When I started collecting I had my pride and joy all over the house until children entered the picture. Years of collecting looked as it was going to be shut down, boxed up, put away never to be enjoyed again. I had less than 6 months to pack up over 20 years of collecting. While checking out a knife in a hardware store I started looking at the case they keep their knives inside to keep them getting loose so to speak. I went home and started designing cabinets that made my wife happy and my children safe while DISP

exotic the wood and the bigger the cabinet the prices would shoot up like some of my rarest knives but unlike my collection I realized that these cases was a one time cost for every ones peace of mind and best of all it they were a great addition to the décor of my man cave and kept all my pieces dust free and I knew where each and every piece was. You might say that you don't need my help, but if you can't say that you know where every knife is at or safe from little hands, or if the wife is on the war path the price of peace of mind isn't that much.

This is for a option to have a custom stand or display case built for your collection needs. The pictures are for reference to order a personal build of your very own.
We have added a table/desk top design for those that would like to expand their collection.
You can choose from a wide variety of woods, exotic or domestic. For the individual stands your choice of materials may also include aluminum, marble, granite, etc.
You choose from one of the reference pictures or a design of your own. We can design a display for 1pc or 21, or 201pcs., it's up to you. You can display bowies, daggers, folders, swords, or what ever you wish to display. It's your chance to have that perfect size, shape and color to fit the rest of your room. Wall hanger or desk top, it's up to you. Single door or double, glass or plexi, stain or clear coat, nickel or brass, and what ever back ground you can find.
We can build child proof, dust proof, even tamper proof. We can even add leds for light if requested. A choice of manual or electronic locks, maybe a simple hasp and master type lock.
Size and shape is totally up to you, your needs are met to your satisfaction. You no longer have to settle for almost works for you, or close to what you need.

All aspects of your build will be photographed and emailed to you for your approval. You will have control of every detail as if you were building it yourself. No tools or knowledge of skills needed, just your imagination. Don't have to settle for almost fits. Your needs are met.

If you have read this up to this point I know that you must be very interested in have a cabinet of some design built. You either have a kick ass collection of your own or you have a friend that has one and you are looking for that something special that will be around for years to come. When I started building these I asked myself, do I really want to invest the money and all that time into building this? Sure it will keep every thing safe and organized plus it will show off my better pieces. Then I thought, the time and money is a one time expense that will most likely be handed down to my children and besides that, I spent more than this on my finer quality pieces only to hide them in my sock draw! What the heck? Why am I even second guessing myself. After that instead of investing money on more pieces that no one will ever see, I spent the time and money and created a knife room that not only  that I was proud of but it made many people envious of my Man Cave so to speak. Because you have taken the time to read my story I ask you to do both of us a favor. I will only take a few minutes and who knows, it may be the best few minutes spent in a very long time.

Here at the D.V. Custom's shop, only one of a kind custom knives are created. I search the world literally, to find the finest steels, woods, exotic materials and accent metals. Each piece of each knife are hand made. Guards, bolsters, spacers, and pommels are never store bought.  If you don't see a piece you like and want something done to your specifications, email me and we can begin work on your own design as soon as is feasible. Customer designed knives require a 0.00 non-refundable deposit will be needed for the purchase of materials for your knife.

I  have been in the knife making and collecting business for 40 years. My private collection is larger than the inventory of many cutlery stores. I know quality, buy quality and sell quality. I stand behind every knife I sell, whether made by me or my suppliers. My functional knives carry a 25 year limited warranty excluding abuse. My show knives carry a 25 year blade warranty and discretionary guarantee on handle materials (obviously mother of pearl, marble, turquoise and other exotic materials need special care).  Exceptions will be clearly stated in my listings.  I use only top quality materials in the knives I make.  Bid with confidence and good luck.

Handling time will depend on the custom build you decide you would like. Of course the more complex the longer it will take to build for you. Each item is built to suit your needs, we don't just build items that almost fit or come close to what you need. We built to fit your measurements and décor. So it may take a bit longer to assemble or even order the stock if needed. But the wait will be worth it.
We can also do double strength glass with secure locks if you decide to display firearms. As I say once more, it's completely up to you..
You may also want to check on shipping prices from 60487. Just put in the size you wish ( add about 2 inches all around for packaging ) and then put in 20, 25 pounds for weight. This will give you a estimate at least till you talk to me to get a better idea of cost. I will work with you any way I can to keep prices low as possible. Hard wood can be quite heavy as well as real glass vs. plastic. I ask you to do this so that you do not get surprised on the price. Many potential builds were dismissed because of shipping costs. I wish I could offer free shipping but I would have to raise the build price to compensate for it and look as I was over charging which by no means I wish to do. I do this as a hobby and only expect to be paid for my time and skills. All jobs are photographed and pictures are sent to the customer before shipping to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. This way any changes that need to be done can be done rather than I wish I asked for this or that was different. You can see from my feed back that my customers are satisfied, with over 50 plus builds I stand by my numbers and the fact that many of my customers come back more than once. I also offer discounts for repeat customers. Most people feel intimidated to spend this kind of money with a stranger but be sure before the build is done we won't be strangers for long.
